Olivia Cracknell

Olivia

Prior to starting her PhD in the Schoenfelder lab in October 2021, Olivia completed her Integrated Master's degree in Biochemistry at the University of Sheffield. For her third and fourth year projects she investigated the regulation of host protein expression in Burkholderia infection, and the role of protein ubiquitination in macrophage responses to bacterial infection, respectively. During her degree she spent a year in industry at GlaxoSmithKline validating the 10x Visium spatial transcriptomics technology and applying it to oncology research.

Olivia is part of the BBSRC iCASE programme and collaborates with GlaxoSmithKline to investigate the role of enhancers in macrophage polarisation. She is also a member of the SymBLS and Green Labs committees.
