Accessibility

We care about communicating well with the people who want to find out more about us.

We also care about inclusivity and diversity and understand that there are many reasons why people might access our website content in different ways.

We strive for level A compliance of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and the site is also assessed against AA, which is partially achieved. The WCAG defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA (highest rating). These international standards provide guidelines to improve web content accessibility for people with disabilities. We are committed to achieving continuous improvement as we address issues.

Accessibility performance information:

We aim to make our website content easily understandable and logically ordered so that it’s easy to find your way around. Where we use technical terms, we try to explain these or link to our glossary. At deeper levels, our content becomes more scientific as it explains the details of biological research projects undertaken with our mission of life sciences research to support lifelong health.

Our website is fully responsive and should scale appropriately on a range of devices and also for the purpose of increasing the text size. It has been tested across multiple browsers to make sure that the website works correctly on each.

This site does include pdfs documents of our policies, annual research reports, case studies and for some elements of our schools resources. The website also uses iframes to create dynamic document flipbooks and to embed video content.

Older videos may not be captioned. All video content is available from our YouTube channel.
