Originally from Mid-Wales, Marian completed her integrated Masters in Biological Sciences at the University of Liverpool. During this time she undertook a Wellcome Trust summer studentship at the Institute in the Park, Liverpool with Dr Brian Flanagan, investigating the role of IL-22 in RSV infection. Her Masters year was undertaken at GlaxoSmithKline, Stevenage focussing on optimisation of regulatory T-cell expansion and co-culture assays. Alongside her degree, Marian enjoyed outreach work as a Widening Participation Student Advocate.
