Aleks

Alex received her PhD from the University of Liverpool where she studied omics of symbiotic systems and immune responses in Arthropods. In the lab of Prof Darby she gained expertise in molecular biology, next-generation sequencing (NGS), single-cell transcriptomics, and bioinformatics.

Alex joined Babraham institute in 2024 to become a postdoc in Dr Claudia Ribeiro de Almeida group. Her research is focused on posttranscriptional regulation of B cell development and applying new omics methods to the field.

Alex is an experienced teacher and has been involved in a number of extracurricular activities, including mentoring undergraduate students, teaching biology to high-school students and undergraduates and creating an online course on basics of Nanopore sequencing.
