Katherine Young

I am a CRUK-funded PhD student in the Sharpe Lab. Our lab focuses on discovering the physiological roles of receptor tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs). I am looking specifically at the function of one of these PTPs- known as PTPRK and its role in oncogenesis. I did my undergraduate degree and masters at the University of Leeds and I spent three months in Japan doing a summer research project at the University of Tokyo also in the field of oncology. In my spare time I like to watch horror films, drink G&Ts, read books and go for the occasional run!
