Genome editing: how far should we go?

Join the discussion event on genome editing. What are the risks and opportunities and what is the role for the public?

Genome editing technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9 are revolutionising scientific research. From bacteria to crops and animals, including human cells and embryos, scientists can now edit almost any DNA sequence. How far should science go using this powerful tool?
This event will include a panel discussion where we will explore risks and opportunities of this technique from a scientific, ethical, patient and legal perspective. After the panel session it will be time for you, the audience, to let your opinions be heard in small group discussions. What do you think will be the future for genome editing? And how can such research become more aligned with the views, expectations and needs of society?
