Trainee Service Area Technician

Biological Support Unit

We would like to meet people interested in becoming Service Area Technicians who wish to work in a state of the art facility providing services to the rodent facility’s four diverse scientific environments using the latest and most advanced techniques.

The post involves processing of soiled animal cages via the use of robotic automated machinery, maintenance of automated machinery, some manual cage processing, moving goods across four biological barriers, cleaning duties, ensuring QA processes are carried out, and other tasks relating to services within the facility.

Starting salary is up to £17,611 per annum plus a £2,000 allowance depending on experience.
