Kitchen Assistant (19 hours per week - job share)


A part-time Kitchen Assistant position has arisen within our onsite nursery on a job share basis. The job holder will be supporting the Nursery Cook with all catering duties.  Applicants will ideally have some catering experience and hold a Food Hygiene certificate. 
This post is to work throughout the whole year, including the school holidays.
Babraham Nursery was opened in September 1990 and operates from a large house situated in a quiet corner of a residential area in the grounds of the Institute. It has a large enclosed garden with climbing frame, pathways and grassed areas. It accommodates up to a total of ninety children on the Early Years register aged from 6 weeks to 5 years throughout the year and operates a separate holiday club for school aged children during the holidays at the local school.
The successful candidate will be expected to work 19 hours per week; Mondays and Tuesdays from 9.00am to 5.30pm and Wednesdays from 9.00am to 1.00pm.
As this is a job share post the successful candidate will be required to cover their job share partner’s planned absences.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB Disclosure) is required.

Starting salary is £8,140 per annum to £8,502 per annum depending on experience.
