Nursery Nurse

Babraham Nursery

Babraham Nursery was opened in September 1990 and operates from a large house situated in a quiet corner of a residential area in the grounds of the Institute. It has a large enclosed garden with climbing frame, pathways and grassed areas. It accommodates up to a total of ninety children on the Early Years register aged from 6 weeks to 5 years throughout the year and operates a separate holiday club for school aged children during the holidays at the local school.
 
There is a large team of Nursery Nurses and Nursery Assistants who care for the children as well as staff who provide the meals and administrative support.  A Senior Nursery Nurse leads each of the four base rooms supported by the Deputy Managers and Manager. 
 
The Nursery is open all year round except for Bank Holidays and a one-week closure during the Christmas period.
 
The successful candidate must have CACHE/NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent.
 
The job holder will be expected to work from Monday to Thursday from 12:00pm to 5:45pm and Fridays from 8:30am to 5:15pm during term-time, totalling 30.75 hours per week. And from Monday to Thursday from 8:30am to 5:45pm and Fridays from 8:30am to 5:15pm during the school holidays, totalling 40.75 hours per week.
 
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB Disclosure) is required.

Working hours are 30.75 hours per week term time and 40.75 hours per week during the school holidays

Starting salary is from £17,000 to £20,000 annum depending on experience.
