Understanding signalling to augment healthy ageing

Some of these conflicting studies reflect cellular context but also that fact that these pathways do not act in isolation but in large signaling alongside multiple coincident signalling pathways signalling.

In this context we are increasingly taking a systems-wide perspective seeking to understand how these pathways integrate to control cell senescence (with M. Narita, Cambridge & J. Saez-Rodriguez, EBI). We are also collaborating with J. Ule (MRC LMB) in a systems wide interrogation of how ERK1/2 and mTOR signalling impacts on mRNA processing, mRNA stability and translation.
