Iosif Alexandrou

Joseph studied Medicine at the University of Athens in Greece, and also graduated from St Andrews University in Scotland with a BSc in Molecular Biology. He joined Dr Stephens` lab as a PhD student in October 2012 and he has been working on the role of phosphatidyl-inositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase isoforms (PIP5Ks) in PI3K signalling. The main project aim is to investigate if specific PIP5K isoforms are involved in the production of specific PI(4,5)P2 pools which supply the PI3K pathway for PI(3,4,5)P3 generation.
