Immunology Symposium for Industry

The Babraham Institute is hosting a science showcase event, focusing on its immunology research programme, which aims to encourage academic-industrial collaborations. This event will take place on Wednesday 11th November, from 9.30 am – 2 pm.

The immunology programme performs world leading research into the processes that regulate the development, survival and function of immune cells. The primary goals of the immune system are to protect the body against invading pathogens and prevent subsequent infection. This powerful system must be carefully balanced to ensure that it does not destroy the body it has evolved to protect. We use a multidisciplinary approach to investigate the receptors and pathways that regulate T cell and B cell development and activation. Many of these processes have commercial relevance, and the programme collaborates with a number of biotech and pharma companies.

The event, suitable for industrial research scientists, will feature a morning of talks by Group Leaders within the immunology programme and also a talk from Matthew Sleeman from MedImmune. This will be followed by a networking lunch and poster session. The full programme is available here. The afternoon has been reserved for 1:1 meetings with the immunology programme Group Leaders (click here for details of their research); these must be pre-arranged via the registration page.

Registration is free, but essential.
